Homily

Prayers of the Faithful

With confidence and trust, let us bring our prayers before the Lord.

  • For the Church and all who exercise her ministry, may we grow in holiness, by God’s grace. We pray:  LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  • That the peace of Christ may heal divisions and bring an end to violence throughout the world. We pray:  LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  • For those who have suffered from the effects of the pandemic, may God’s Holy Spirit bring them comfort and healing.  We Pray: LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

  • For those who have died in faith, may they come to share in the eternal life of the risen Christ. We pray:  LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.

  • For all who serve in difficult and distant places particularly relief workers and members of the military: that God will guide their service and bring them home safely to their families.…and for all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts.  We pray:  LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Almighty and loving Father, hear our prayers and answer them according to your holy will. We pray this through your Son, Christ our Lord.  Amen

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Closing Prayer

Father of all nations and ages,
we recall the day when our country
claimed its place among the family of nations;
for what has been achieved we give you thanks,
for the work that still remains we ask your help,
and as you have called us from many peoples to be one nation, grant that, under your providence,
our country may share your blessings
with all the peoples of the earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Closing Hymn
