Prayers of the Faithful

Trusting in the kindness of our heavenly Father, let us offer our prayers this day.

  • For the Holy Father, may he continue to grow in holiness and wisdom in his service to the living and true God, let us pray to the Lord,

  • For people throughout the world who are persecuted for their faith, may God’s love give them courage as they stand for Christ in the darkness, let us pray to the Lord.

  • That on this Father's day, as we give thanks for the gift of our fathers, may all fathers be blessed with the gift of God's guidance, his protection, and love, let us pray to the Lord.

  • For the intentions ask at this time...., let us pray to the Lord.

  • For our beloved dead, that as the gracious gift of Jesus Christ overflows, they may taste the sweetness of life eternal, let us pray to the Lord.

We thank you, Father, for your steadfast love.  Please hear and answer our prayers this day, according to your wisdom.  We ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ.  Amen

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Closing Prayer

Renewed and nourished
may we ask of your mercy,

O Lord,
that what we celebrate

with constant devotion
may be our sure pledge

of redemption.
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen

Father's Day Blessing

God our Father,
In your wisdom and love

you have created us and called us your own.

Bless our fathers,

that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers.
Let the example of their faith and love
shine forth.
In moments of joy,
rejoice with them.

In times of struggle, give them your courage.

Grant that we,

their sons and daughters,

may honor and appreciate them always

with a spirit of profound respect.

May the example and prayer of St. Joseph

inspire them to live their vocation with courage.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
