3rd Sunday of Advent
Gathering Hymn

Opening Prayer
May our prayer of petition
rise before you, we pray,
O Lord,
that, with purity unblemished,
we, your servants,
may come, as we desire,
to celebrate the great mystery
of the Incarnation of your Only Begotten Son.
Who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God,
for ever and ever.
Amen

Prayers of the Faithful
Grateful for all the gifts we have been given, we ask for the help we need to serve God faithfully.
-
For our faith community, may the Holy Spirit grant us courage and strength as we live our call to discipleship, let us pray to the Lord.
-
For the world, may the Lord guide us with wisdom in our role as stewards of the resources of this earth, let us pray to the Lord.
-
For those who experience the pain of separation, may the love of God sustain them through every trial, let us pray to the Lord.
-
For those who have died, may the Lord’s mercy grant them eternal rest, let us pray to the Lord.
-
For the intentions that we ask at this time...., let us pray to the Lord.
God of all good gifts, we know you are with us as we answer your call to act boldly in your service. Hear the prayers we offer today, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Closing Hymn
Meditation Hymn
Closing Prayer
May these mysteries, O Lord,
in which we have participated,
profit us, we pray,
for even now,
as we walk amid passing things, you teach us by them
to love the things of heaven
and hold fast to what endures.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
