Divine Mercy Sunday

Gathering Hymn

Gathered Round This Table
00:00 / 03:27

Opening Prayer

God of everlasting mercy,
who in the very recurrence of the paschal feast
kindle the faith of the people

you have made your own,

increase, we pray,

the grace you have bestowed,
that all may grasp and rightly understand
in what font they have been washed,
by whose Spirit they have been reborn,
by whose Blood they have been redeemed.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

Prayers of the Faithful

Let us bring our prayers before our merciful and loving Lord.

  • For the Church, that as the body of the risen Christ here on earth, God’s Holy Spirit may guide us in proclaiming the truth and hope of the Resurrection, let us pray to the Lord.

  • For peace and justice in the world, may Easter grace be with all nations and peoples in turning away from division, let us pray to the Lord.

  • For those who struggle each day, especial during this time of difficulty, may God grant a spirit of fortitude and of Hope, let us pray to the Lord.

  • For those intentions that we ask at this time...., let us pray to the Lord

  • For all who have died, may they share with the saints the reward of eternal joy, let us pray to the Lord.

Almighty and eternal God, as we celebrate this Divine Mercy Sunday, we ask you to hear our prayers through Christ, our risen Lord.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Meditation Hymn

Closing Prayer

May God,

by whose redeeming work
you have received the gift of everlasting freedom,

make you heirs

to an eternal inheritance.
