18th Sunday of Ordinary Time
August 2, 2020
Let us Sing in Glory to God
Draw near to your servants,
and answer their prayers
with unceasing kindness,
that, for those who glory in you
as their Creator and guide,
you may restore
what you have created
and keep safe
what you have restored.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with you i
n the unity of the Holy Spirit,
for ever and ever.
Prayers of the Faithful
With hopeful hearts, we bring our needs to God whose love is stronger than death, and who nourishes us with the bread of life.
For the Church, may Christ continue to bless her with all she needs to bring his love to the world, let us pray to the Lord.
For those traveling the long road of grief, may they know Christ’s presence, and rest in the confidence that nothing can separate us from the love of God, let us pray to the Lord.
For those who have suffered from the effects of the pandemic, may God’s Holy Spirit bring them comfort and healing, let us pray to the Lord.
For those who have died, may they rest in God’s eternal love, let us pray to the Lord.
For all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our heart, let us pray to the Lord.
God our Father, we bring you these needs today, confident in the power of your love and the abundance of your generosity. Through your Son, Christ our Lord. Amen
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Accompany with constant protection,
those you renew
with these heavenly gifts and,
in your never-failing care for them,
make them worthy of eternal redemption. Through Christ our Lord.
